Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah (YSHHB) is Brunei's royal charitable foundation, established by statute (Chapter 166) with effect from 5 October 1992 to mark the Silver Jubilee of Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah's reign. It serves as the philanthropic channel of the Sultan and royal family — a waqf-style endowment rather than a return-seeking wealth fund — pursuing five objects: religion, welfare, education, development, and finance. It funds scholarships, housing and disaster aid, and religious institutions. Its most visible asset is the Yayasan Complex, a landmark commercial development in Bandar Seri Begawan whose income supports the foundation's charitable programs.
