National Pension System Trust (NPST) was established by Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority (PFRDA) as per the provisions of the Indian Trusts Act of 1882 for taking care of the assets and funds under the NPS in the best interest of the subscribers. It had US$ 88 billion in assets under management, was US$ 88 billion end the of fiscal year 2021, most of it in public sector pension funds.
