National Bank of Kazakhstan (NBK) is the central bank of Kazakhstan and it manages the country’s reserves beyond the National Fund (NF) and the National Investment Corporation (NIC), which are considered Sovereign Wealth Funds. In 2020, NBK moved its headquarters from Almaty, the largest city, to Astana, the capital, which the government is seeking to develop as a financial centre, leaving only a representative branch office in Almaty.
