Al Mirqab Capital is a single-family office headquartered in Doha, established in 1999 to manage the private fortune of Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim bin Jaber Al Thani ("HBJ"), Qatar's former prime minister and foreign minister, who chaired the Qatar Investment Authority from 2005 to 2013. Though often viewed as quasi-sovereign given its founder's role in building Qatar's state wealth, it is a private vehicle owned by HBJ and his family. It invests globally across public equities, real estate, hospitality and strategic private holdings, and controls the Al Thani family's European banking interests through Luxembourg holding company Precision Capital, which in turn owns Quintet Private Bank.
