The Teachers Retirement System of Georgia (TRS) was established in 1943 by an act of the Georgia General Assembly. TRS administers the pensions of 277,000 active members including teachers in the state’s public schools, many employees of the University System of Georgia, and certain other designated employees in educational-related work environments. TRS’s net assets stand for US$ 102 billion.
