The Gelephu Investment and Development Corporation (GIDC) is the sovereign development and investment arm of the Gelephu Mindfulness City (GMC) Special Administrative Region, established in southern Bhutan in 2023 under a Royal Charter. GIDC is mandated to originate, own and operate investments that accelerate the build-out of GMC, while also deploying capital domestically and internationally for the benefit of the Kingdom of Bhutan. Its early activity has centred on financing flagship infrastructure—notably the Gelephu International Airport—and on attracting foreign direct investment into technology, digital connectivity and green energy.
