CDP Equity is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Cassa Depositi e Prestiti (CDP) Group. It acts as the investment arm of the Minister of Economy and Finance (MEF) with the objective of attracting foreign capital and supporting Italian companies operating in sectors that are considered to be “strategic” for the economy (“Made in Italy”). Born as Fondo Strategico Italiano (FSI), it was renamed as CDP Equity in 2016. A year later, FSI’s former CEO founded Fondo FSI, a PE fund with capital from CDP Equity and other LPs.
