The Bank of Korea (BOK) is the central bank of the Republic of Korea and issuer of Korean Republic won. It was established on 12 June 1950 in Seoul, South Korea. The bank's primary purpose is price stability. It maintains several representative offices overseas including New York, Washington DC, London, Frankfurt, Tokyo, Hong Kong, Beijing and Shanghai.
